Wilderness Beach

The main attraction in Wilderness is the beautiful, unspoilt 6km long beach, but the area offers many other activities … horse riding, paragliding, canoeing on the Touw River, hiking, bird watching, whale and dolphin watching, fishing, mountain biking, kite surfing, and more!​

Garden Route Paragliding offers scenic Tandem Paragliding and Hang Gliding flights from various sites along the Garden Route coast including Wilderness, Sedgefield, Brenton-on-Sea and Buffalo Bay.

Garden Route Mall, George
The city of George is a 10 minute drive from the house and has much to offer … supermarkets and shops in the Garden Route Mall and in the CBD, a cinema, wine estates and golf courses, nightclubs and restaurants, yet more beaches in the outlying suburbs. Victoria Bay is world renowned for exceptional surfing.  George International Airport is a 20 minute drive from the house.
Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay, close to the eastern border of the Garden Route, is the playground of the rich, with fabulous shops, beaches and restaurants.

Knysna
Knysna is reputed to be the most beautiful town in South Africa. Head here for world-class restaurants and golf estates, nightlife, festivals, and of course plenty of leisure and outdoor adventures.​
Garden Route
The Garden Route, high on the must-see lists of most visitors to South Africa, stretches along the southern coast of South Africa. Mossel Bay
Head off to Mossel Bay, on the western border of the Garden Route, to dive with Great White sharks!​

Nearby Sedgefield offers the very popular Wild Oats Community Farmers’ Market.​
Oudtshoorn

Visit the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, an historic inland town at the eastern end of Route 62. Visit the crocodile farm or one of the ostrich farms. Venue of the annual 36ONE Mountain Bike Challenge.

Route 62
One of the longest wine routes in the world. This historic inland route passes through the Cape Winelands and Klein Karoo, and is the scenic alternative to the N2 highway to Cape Town.
